Gambia 2025: Coastal Area

We spent the first part of our tour near the coast: Kartong wetlands, the river that forms the border to Senegal, Balaba Camp, Tanji Bird Reserve, Brufut Woods and Woodland Bar, where guide Anthony showed us the nightjars and a Swallow-tailed Bee-Eater, Kotu Bridge, where Baba Galleh guided us successfully.

Finding the nightjars on the dam in Kartong is not difficult. Their eyes look back at you, when the light of a torch falls on them. But to get a photo of them demands some time and the experience of an expert bird guide. Emmanuel knows this magic trick. Thank you Emmanuel!
